Orava

can offer many possibilities for its visitors climbing, skiing, water sports, hunting and fishing. Mountainous region situated in the North of Slovakia. It is bordered by the Chocke vrchy and Sipska Fatra in the South by the eastern spurs of Mala Fatra, Kysucka vrchovina and Kysucke Beskydy in the West and by the ridges of the Western Tatras Rohace in the South /East. Beskydy in the North and it is also the border with Poland. The first settlement of this region is dated from Stone and Bronze Ages and so there are many finding places in the surrounding of Dolny Kubin.

The ski-center Kubínska hoľa

Kubínska hoľa - the most visited hill in the Oravská Magura /1346 m/, which is well-known as a winter ski centre.

Malá Lučivná

It is a ski centre situated in Mala Fatra. Because of the position of the ski trails in the Northern slants and also because of the artificial snow, you can ski here until late spring. The funicular with seats and many ski-tows are here for the satisfaction of holiday-makers, who will also find fine facilities for cross country skiing.

Skiing in Roháče

Roháče offers very good facilities for skiing, because in May the Roháče valleys are still covered with snow and so late spring skiing is not rare here. The skiers can have pleasure from skiing and cross country skiing in the fairy-tale nature of Roháče valleys. Also equipment for production of aartificial snow is available for skiers and it certainly raises the atractiveness of Roháče for winter tourism.
